This blog is truly amazing & very helpful. Thank you, for taking the time to help people world wide. I really could use your help. Ever since I got married my family has turned upside down. Every time I look at the Turkish coffee I see a long snake. What does a snake mean? Today I drank coffee & there was a big circle at the middle of the cup & it looked like an eye. What does the eye represent? Also there is a circle that circles the bottom of the cup?What does that mean? Please help me.

Dear all,

Since I've started to write this blog, I've been receiving many emails, comments and messages from visitors to read their cups.

Thank you for your blog. When I was a teen a friend left me a bag of turkish ground coffee with some added herbs.. Looked like it was bought straight from Turkey, the added flavors I had no clue what they were (Cloves, Mastic, or cardamom). I was in heaven. The taste was out of this world.. I was so disappointed when it ran out, and could never find it as it was imported from Turkey a brand I dont recall.. Ever since, I have been buying brand after brand of Turkish coffee in the US trying to find this particular flavor to no avail.. I would tell friends travelling to bring me flavored Turkish coffee they come back with the old Cardamom recipe .. Not the one.. UNTIL I FOUND YOUR BLOG... I think I'm onto something :) I ll try to mix cardamom cloves and mastic and I think that would be it.. I hope ;)

hey , i dint read much in your blog, actually im in tension. one of my friend's aunt does this coffee reading , she told me that at the bottom near the handle there was symbol of an arabic word mohammed, an bomb and even a frog, what she told me was that a muslim guy wil be my life partner and he wil be a cause of trouble in my house because she saw the bomb near that.. what do u think? is this true? im really tensed please help me.. is coffee reading always so true and exact?

Thank you very much for all the deails posted on the site.
I love Turkish coffee for years but only this year while in a holiday in Turkey discovered they made the coffee with automatic machine.
Reading your site helped me a lot, I just got my Turkish coffee maker and look forward to use it at home after the holiday.

I have a question about the grinder in the picture. It is a Hon. I have one like this. How do I get a finer grind out of it? I ordered one, and it grinds well enough, but no matter what I do, the grind seems quite coarse.

when you say "screw up" or "down", do you mean to screw it so the crankshaft is higher/ /lower? or do you mean tighten/loosen the joist? and should the shaft be pulled up high, or should it be like in your picture, and lowered to where the bottom of the crankshaft is lower than the bottom of the burr, and not flush with it?

I hope I can make this grinder work - it took so long to arrive from Turkey =/

stroma (and all of you who have problems with the red button), I experienced it yesterday for the first time. The coffee machine didn't seem to be able to work without the red light going on. Then I got an idea and poured a little bit of water away. I guess I simply put too much water in the brewing pot. Now I always make sure the pot is never more than half full and it works wonderfully.

My mom read my coffee cup and a figure of a dragon about to pick up a happy little man showed up... i know it sounds so odd, but we couldnt figure out what it meant. do you know what it means? also in our tradition your supposed to make a wish and with the fourth finger on your hand press down at the bottom of the cup and that shape is supposed to tell about your wish. my shape was circle but not a whole circle with the T and J do you know what thats means?
